Open Door and Halton Housing have successfully acquired a plot of land on Picow Farm Road, Runcorn to allow them to create a £9.8 million new build housing development. The development will comprise of 71 brand new-homes, which will be a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes and bungalows. On this plot of land Halton Housing plan to create 30 homes for affordable rent, and their commercial subsidiary, Open Door will create 17 homes for outright sale, 14 on a shared ownership basis and 10 rent to buy homes.
The works are due to start on site for this development imminently and are scheduled to be completed in Summer 2020.
Kate Sweeney, the Project Manager for this new build housing scheme said:
“We are delighted this development has been given the green light, as it will provide a mix of different homes and tenures in a great location with excellent transport links, with the nearest train station being less than half a mile away. We’re investing heavily in building new homes for the people of Halton to help meet the current high demand. This project will also allow us to regenerate a disused piece of land back into the community.”
